This Chimayo red chile powder comes from a small farm about 5 miles away from the Sanctuario de Chimayo. It is a very hard to find chile powder, and it took me a few years to find our current farmer. As it is so rare and difficult to grow, the price is quite expensive when compared to chile powders from Hatch, New Mexico. That being said, this chile powder is renowned for a reason, and is a big part of why restaurants like Rancho de Chimayo are so famous! With a spice level solidly between medium and hot, this vibrant chile powder will add some nice spice, earthiness, and a lot of color to whatever dish you use it in! Supply for this chile powder is very limited, so we will probably sell out quickly! As of now, we offer them in 2 oz and 10 oz packages, but will likely run out of the 10 oz sooner.
