Chipotle Morita

Description

Chipotle morita is the dried Mexican chile most commonly known as simply as chipotle. It is a smoke dried red ripe jalapeno. What separates this from chipotle meco is that it is dried to a raisin like texture, where meco is smoked much longer until it is almost completely dried out. Because of this, it is less smoky than meco, and also retains some of its texture and color. This chile isn’t terribly hard to chop up, and also works great in a blender of food processor. It’s a great addition to a salsa or barbecue sauce, with a medium heat and smoke level.
